Dear Madam / Sir,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, being the DeafBlind person, with a strong determination of providing to more than 5 lakhs DeafBlind people in India, the better opportunities of Education, Vocational Training, Technology and Employment.
For this very purpose, I have established “Society for Empowerment of the Deafblind” (SEDB), a registered Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO). Through SEDB, we are advocating for the rights of the people with disabilities.
Support for the India’s First Training Center for the DeafBlind
SEDB proposes to start a new training center for deafblind youth to train them with employability skills, computer training and soft skills. This will be India’s first exclusive training center for the deafblind run by deaf and deafblind volunteers and staff. For more details, please refer to the PDF document below:
Support for the Website Development
With this society in place, the next step I intended to do is to develop a strong user-friendly informative website that will reach every Deafblind people in India. With this website, I’ll be able to provide the readers (normal people as well as Deafblind) valuable guidance / assistance on how they should help each other as a single community.
I had shared with Mr. Aqil Chinoy, the advisor of my society, my plans and ideals of having a powerful website. Aqil is deaf and creative designer who graduated with Bachelor in Computer Science from Gallaudet University, Washington DC, USA, and he returned to live with his deaf family in India. He is the CEO of web-development company “inspiralive” and he has the potential of developing SEDB website which will be very attractive as well as user-friendly with Membership Registration form for collecting Deafblind people, dynamically edited contents for guidance / assistance, news updates on new assistive technologies, projects of SEDB, media press and photo galleries of several events.
